Through Ceremony
In the days before, when our ancestors lived with their feet on the land and drank from the streams, the Great Spirit’s presence was felt in every breath of wind, every rustle of leaves, and every whisper of the rivers. It was a time when the animals, the keepers of ancient wisdom, walked alongside the people, guiding them with stories and symbols. Among these wise beings were the Jaguar, fierce and graceful, who carried the spirit of the South, and the Bison, strong and enduring, who embodied the wisdom of the North.
One night, under a sky filled with countless stars, the Jaguar and the Bison met in a sacred place where the land and sky seemed to touch. They spoke of the old ways—the songs, the dances, the ceremonies that had kept the people connected to the Great Spirit and to the earth. But their hearts were heavy, for they knew that these sacred traditions were fading, slipping away as the world around them changed. The voices of the ancestors, once so clear, were growing faint.
